One of the best ways to experience a new place is by tasting your way through it! That’s why I’ve compiled a list of eateries and dives to taste the world, acknowledging that my world has become confined by the boundaries of my college.

1. Lose Yourself in the Italian Cuisine of Lagûnitá
Sample the authentic Italian cuisine and the gorgeous lake breeze at Lakeside Dining. The always reliable pasta bar will have your Nona saying, “ehhrm, no thanks.” With your choice of both sauces (beige and red) you can diminish the bland flavour of pasta, just like your understanding of the outside world has diminished after entering University.
2. Gain una buena experiencia at Stern!
Travel South (down Campus Drive) to Stern and taste the way burritos were always meant to be served: deconstructed in a bowl. As you chomp, deconstruct the ways your own understanding of society has shifted to center around your peers and your own collegiate issues. If you're feeling thirsty, try some of the fancy bubbly water from the fountain, modeled after the University bubble you're currently living in.
3. Eat Like the Gods (athletes) at Ricker Dining
We have great news! Ricker Dining has the best assortment of fruit and meat in all of Stanford! That’s probably the best news you’ve heard all week. That’s probably the only news you’ve heard all week. Come to think of it, you haven’t been in touch with the news much at all since you arrived on campus. Does it really matter much when you know exactly when all of Talisman’s winter shows are? Thought not.
4. Scream for Ice Cream at Flomo!
For the sweet tooths out there, Florence Moore dining is a true gem. While the entrees will warm you up, the complimentary/daily ice cream bar will make you cold. Cold to the world. Cold to the society you claim to be a part of. Cold to the family you haven't been contacting. Cold to the high school friends you've watched slip away. Cold to the involved citizen inside that you used to be....but hot for Le-Le Stan-Stan Juni-Uni!! Go Card!!!!
